Dr. Thomas D. Staton, DPT

Dr. Thomas D. Staton, DPT

Owner & Clinic Director
Thomas Staton is the kind of physical therapist people remember—equal parts clinical expert, straight shooter, and the guy who can make you laugh even when your back is staging a full rebellion. With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UCF and a decade-plus leading clinics across the Southwest, he brings a rare blend of tough love, deep knowledge, and genuine human connection to every patient who walks through the door. Simply put: Thomas believes people can do hard things, heal well, and get back to the life they love—and he’s not shy about reminding them of it.
Patients quickly learn that while Thomas expects you to show up and put in the work, he’ll be right there beside you as a steady source of strength, motivation, and the occasional well-timed joke. His core values—authenticity, usefulness, humor, and self-reliance—shape his entire approach. He doesn’t break down with his patients; he’s the pillar they can lean on until they can stand taller than they thought possible.
Outside the clinic, Thomas is happiest outdoors—hunting, snowboarding, or sitting around a campfire with his closest friends and family, singing along to whatever soundtrack the night calls for. He’s a New Mexico native through and through, grounded, loyal, and endlessly dedicated to the people he serves. At Bear Canyon Therapy, Thomas leads with heart, humor, and a belief that everyone has more strength in them than they realize—and he’s here to help you find it.
